I love Wake Forest Presbyterian Church. I arrived on the scene in the summer of 2013 and found a church that was enthusiastically open to moving forward in new and refreshing ways, desiring to go deeper into our relationship with God on a church-wide level and on an individual level. Wake Forest takes its mission statement to heart as we acknowledge that we are rooted in Christ; growing together in faith; and reaching out beyond ourselves. People have asked me what kind of Presbyterian Church we are. WFPC is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), part of the Body of Christ going back to the beginnings of our nation. No, our denomination is not perfect, but I love its theology; its love for God’s Word; its openness to grow in our faith through engaging questions; and facing issues that are a part of what it means to grow in our faith. All of this helps lead us to greater spiritual maturity, as we actively pursue ministry and mission in the name of Jesus. Jesus tells us to “love” each other (I John. 4:7-8), whether we want to or not. Our world needs to see us (the Church) witness such love standing united in Christ. We don’t offer everything for everybody, but we do strive to be faithful in what we are able to do. Come and worship with us. Get to know us through the many ways you can connect, and together we can serve the Lord with gladness.
