Dementia Caregivers Class

3rd Wednesday: in-person 10-11:30 AM; Zoom 2-3:30 PM

Our mission is to educate, encourage, and empower dementia caregivers in the Wake Forest community. Each class is designed to provide practical tools for caregivers so that participants always leave a class with new knowledge that can be applied to best support the person living with dementia as well as the caregivers themselves. We begin with a devotional and prayer that is specifically chosen to reinforce the training content.  Topics for classes will be published in Leaflets and in Sunday bulletins. Please join us at any time if you are the caregiver for someone with dementia, a family member or friend of someone with dementia, or if you just want to learn more. We hope to begin in-person meetings in October, but the date for in-person meetings will depend upon the availability of appropriate audiovisual equipment and the status of Covid-19 spread in the community. When we resume in-person classes, we will continue to stream classes via Zoom to ensure access for those who cannot otherwise attend.

In addition to classes, we also offer individual consultations with caregivers via Zoom or in-person on Pat or Lynette’s screened porch.

For additional information or to be added to class emails, contact Pat Snyder at patsnyder137@gmail.com or Lynette Wilson at lynetteywilson@nc.rr.com. (Note — in-person classes are slated to begin in October.  Our December classes will meet on December 14, not December 21.)
