“I love Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.  I arrived on the scene in the summer of 2013 and found a church that was enthusiastically open to moving forward in new and refreshing ways, desiring to go deeper into our relationship with God on a church-wide level and on an individual level.  Wake Forest takes its mission statement to heart as we acknowledge that we are rooted in Christ; growing together in faith; and reaching out beyond ourselves.  People have asked me what kind of Presbyterian Church we are.  WFPC is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), part of the Body of Christ going back to the beginnings of our nation.  No, our denomination is not perfect, but I love its theology; its love for God’s Word; its openness to grow in our faith through engaging questions; and facing issues that are a part of what it means to grow in our faith. All of this helps lead us to greater spiritual maturity, as we actively pursue ministry and mission in the name of Jesus.  Jesus tells us to “love” each other (I Jn. 4:7-8), whether we want to or not.  Our world needs to see us (the Church) witness such love standing united in Christ.  We don’t offer everything for everybody, but we do strive to be faithful in what we are able to do.  Come and worship with us.  Get to know us through the many ways you can connect, and together we can serve the Lord with gladness.”

"I feel God is calling me to Wake Forest to help shepherd and participate in the rich spirit of discipleship that is in the hearts of the church family. The spirit of service and giving of time and treasures to God is embraced and celebrated in the Wake Forest community.  It is a place where the Spirit is certainly on fire and at work. This community continues to engage in mission, praise, and the joyful work of the Lord.  I am called here to come be a part of it – as a pastor, shepherd, student, friend, and brother in Christ."


Katherine Peiper, Director of Children, Family, and Youth Ministries

Favorite Scripture: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.’”  (1 John 4:7)

Katherine begins her ministry with Wake Forest Presbyterian on the anniversary of our church’s 25th anniversary, a fitting beginning for our next 25 years of life together. She comes highly recommended from First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh where she focused her ministry with children and their families. When interviewed by the search team, she was asked what she has learned in working with a church.  She said, “By working at a church, I’ve learned more about what I actually believe, and why. I want others to find that connection with God through the community of faith.”  She received her college degree from the University of Georgia, has a Master’s in Education, and has years of experience working with children and with youth from all walks of life. She is a huge fan of the written Word, chocolate, and very much enjoys watching her children grow into the people they are intended to be. Her husband, Jon, works for the Department of Corrections as an Assistant Director of mental Health in the Greenville/Raleigh District. They have two children, Addie (5) and Thomas (3). They live in Wake Forest.

“I love my job!  Each morning after the Pre-school staff meets for scripture reading, devotional and prayer, I have the joy of greeting our families.  I love welcoming the little ones full of energy and hugs into the preschool.  I enjoy sharing Bible stories with the preschoolers and want the children to know they are loved by God.  I have been part of the church staff for 12 years.  I graduated from Meredith College and have been in the educational field for 23 years."

Kim understands sacred music (all types) to be one aspect of prayer in the context of worship.  Kim and her husband, Eddie, are charter members of WFPC, and she began leading music as a volunteer in 1993 officially joining the staff in 2002.  Kim is passionate about leading people in corporate worship and counts it as an absolute joy to celebrate the Gospel through the various music ministries at WFPC.  Kim adores leading the Praise Team, Chancel Choir, Ladies Ensemble and coordinating music ministries alongside dedicated volunteer leaders for children, youth, men, bells and liturgical dance.

"WFPC has been home to my family since 2003.  I feel so blessed that God gave us a loving church home to raise our children in. Having education degrees, my passion has always been with youth and children. Through the years, I have been involved with them in many fun ways – youth advisor, trip chaperone, VBS music leader, youth choir director, and preschool music teacher. I am thrilled to serve as an interim youth director for WFPC. I am relying on God’s strength and guidance to show me His will for the youth in our church."

"I love being around children, and I love my church! The wonderful staff and families at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church have been such an inspiration to me as we walk with and alongside each other on  our journeys as we grow together.  I am grateful and excited to be the Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry.  I am also on the preschool staff as a co-teacher and an assistant teacher.   I enjoy teaching children that they are God’s children and they are loved. My family and I have been members at WFPC since 2007 and I've enjoyed helping to coordinate and create the VBS decorations for the past 3 years. Although I went to school for Business, I've found my passion working with children."

"I come from a long line of fine southern women who know how to throw a great party and feed the masses. Everything we did growing up was a get together of some kind and food of all kinds was prepared and enjoyed by all. Some of my fondest memories are of those events. I believe that is why I love cooking for and planning events. I get great joy out of seeing people come together to fellowship with one another. Food gives you something to talk about if you don't know them that well or just an opportunity to catch up with those that you do. The smiles, the laughter, the fellowship are all fulfilling for me. I couldn't ask for a better position than right here, bringing people together to share in each other’s joys and even sorrows as we grow as a church family."

"I am so happy to be at Wake Forest Presbyterian to provide support and structure for all the wonderful program staff, whose enthusiasm for their ministries and love for God is a blessing to be around.  I have a background in software development and business analysis, along with experience in office administration, which I will to use to continue to find new ways for our church and its members to stay connected, while strengthening existing ministries and helping to equip new ones as they arise.  I love the illustration of the church as the Body of Christ, with Christ as the head: “From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” (Ephesians 4:16 NIV)."
