WFPC Certified as a National PC(USA) Earth Care Congregation

EarthCareSealWFPC has become an Earth Care Congregation!

What does this mean?
This is a certification that PC (USA) churches can receive for practicing good environmental stewardship in their worship, education, use of facilities and outreach actions in the life of the church.

How did we earn this achievement?

We have special worship services outdoors, we regularly do communion by intinction (cuts down on plastic cup waste), and we have an outdoor prayer and memorial garden; for education we regularly hold children’s classes outside that talk about earth care and environmental stewardship; for facilities we have LED lights, programmable thermostats, re-usable dishes and silverware, and recycle paper; for outreach we have a community garden, participate in gleaning projects, and share our building space with non-profit groups (Grief Share, Scouts, Divorce Care to name a few).  Congratulations on a job well done in promoting good use of the gifts of God’s creation!!!  This achievement gives us an opportunity to look to the future and continue to always be in thought and practice about new ways we can be stewards of our facility and God’s creation.
Take a look through the survey we completed and see if there are any items we missed, or if there are some new initiatives that your ministry area has taken on, so that we can keep track of the great ways we are taking care of creation!

Do you love environmental stewardship and want to join the Earth Care Team?  If so please contact Rev. John Fawcett for more information.
